Headphone problem

Am i the only one experiencing a delay ex. when listening to music i plug in my earphones and it takes like 5=8 seconds for my macbook air to change from the speakers to earphones. my previous macbooks did it instantly

i've noticed this delay, it is a little strange but not a big deal. however, it's only about 2-4 seconds for me, nowhere near 8 seconds.
