Headphones Rattling

So ever since I got my iPhone my volume level with headphones on has never gone much farther than halfway. A couple days ago my left earbud started rattling and it's really bothering me. I think it started after I took a phone call the other day. I don't think it's blown because the volume hasn't been loud enough - and wouldn't it have blown the other earbud too? I haven't dropped them, stepped on them, or damaged them in any way. Will they replace these at the apple store?

the headphones are covered by the year warranty that comes with the phone. i blew my speakers three months in and they replaced them for free at the apple store.
