Does anyone know if there's an iPhone/iPod remote control adapter that can be used with regular headphones, which apart from play/pause/skip, also is able to rewind and fast forward? The Apple headphones do fast forward if you click the play button twice and hold it, and it rewinds if you click three times. However, the sound quality is abysmal and I want to use my own.

I think there are a few actually.

There's also headphones that come with that remote you can buy too.

I like these:

These are full headsets that have the microphone as well (so you can use them to talk on the iphone as well) but they have a cheaper version that just has the remote.

I bought the iLuv iEA15BLK iPod Remote for $5.48 on Amazon. What a great deal! It works perfectly with my iPhone 4S. Exactly like the Apple headphones, including double click to fast forward and triple click to rewind.

I prefer to use real headphones. The Koss Porta-Pro has been my favorite for 20 years. And they stay on when you exercise...
