I'm on my second pair of iPhones earbuds and I just recently noticed that the right side is at least 70% quieter than the left. At first I thought it might be the fact that some of the things I listen to were mono, but it behaves the same on stereo music as well. I think the same thing is also going on with my iPod ear buds (which I use on my computer). I use both sets of earbuds not only with the iPhone/iPod but on computers (the iPhone ear buds on a PC, the iPod on a Mac), could this be the source of the problem? Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem, or should I just get them replaces at the local Apple Store?

PS - I have a horrible track record with non-gold metal or plastic making extended contact with my skin. My first iPhone earbuds were replaced because the light grey rubber seal was disintegrated. I have disintegrated the screens on two sets of iPod headphones. I no longer wear watches because with in a few month the back of the watch becomes pitted. So as an alternative, does anyone have a suggestion for headphones that could work like the iPhone's without the speakers have to make extended contact with my skin? (except for those large phonograph like headphones, as I have a pair with my aviation headset).
