I've created a Work focus, and ever since, I've noticed that (a) I'm not getting alerted to stand when the work focus is active (something I've since remedied by allowing notifications from the Health app), and (b) I don't seem to be getting credited for hours when I have been standing. I'll get up, open the window, grab a beverage, and maybe even go up and down the stairs to check the mail, and unless that triggers a minute of exercise (which it shouldn't), I'm not getting any movement on my Stand ring. Anybody else have this problem? Any thoughts on workarounds?

I don't know about Work Focus, but I've always had trouble getting stand to register when I'm sitting at a desk and get up for a few minutes to get coffee or something. The only reliable way I've found to get stand to register is to move my arm vigorously until I get stand credit. Ironically, this method works even if I remain sitting and just wave my arms around. *shrug*

This is my experience as well.

I can be standing and moving around in the kitchen for nearly an hour, cooking dinner or whatever, and still get the annoying "almost there" notification. On the other hand, I can be a total couch potato for hours and as long as I pet the dog every now and then it counts as standing. I've given up trying to understand.

I think despite the name "stand," what it actually tracks are arm movements. Not a problem if you are walking or running steadily for a while, because your arms naturally swing as you move. But if you are shuffling around the kitchen cooking, your arms might not move all that much, despite the fact that you are on your feet and moving about. And repetitive arm movements, like petting your dog, get interpreted as standing because it's similar to the way arms swing while walking.
