So I just opened the health app and was just playing with it and noticed that it has been keeping track of how many miles I have walked and how many steps since I first turned on my iPhone.... I had no idea it was doing this.. I was just curious.... Is it tracking everybody's steps as well?

Yeah, that's one of those things that the motion coprocessor in the iPhone 5S and later gets "for free," computationally speaking.

…I really need to walk more.

Stupid question, but where do I find this info? I open up the Health app and it's empty. No steps or anything recorded...?

1. Open the Health app
2. Go to the Health Data tab
3. Search for "Steps" or "Walking + Running Distance" (or Flights Climbed if you have an iPhone 6)
4. Choose one
5. Toggle "Show on Dashboard"
6. Return to the Dashboard tab at the bottom.
