Still waiting for my Apple Watch (42mm Sport Space Grey), but noticed an update with my Nike+ app on my 6+ that had the following message:
"Run with the Apple Watch. Take your iPhone on a run but keep it in your pocket. Currently, Apple doesn't allow developers to access the heart rate sensor."
A: Is this true? (I'm sure it is)
B: Does this mean that the only way to track heart rate consistently during exercise is by using the Apple Exercise App? I've done a lot of research here and on the web and see that the Apple Exercise App is very basic at best (Distance Run, Avg. Heart Rate, steps) whereas other apps are much more granular (Mile Splits, Max HR, GPS map of Run, steps).
Seems redundant that I have to purchase (and use) a THIRD PARTY HR monitor with Nike+ when I've got a capable one fitted to my wrist in the AW.
