Has anyone else run into this? I just got a new Imac last week. I already had a decent audio system (Altec Lansing) from my old Dell PC. However, once I hooked up the sound system to the Imac, I started hearing an a radio broadcast in the background whenever I started Itunes. Itunes works fine, but the background radio is obviously something I don't want. Any thoughts? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

This happened to me with a pair of speakers once. Essentially, the speakers are acting as a large antenna and picking up said radio station, which is then coming out of the speakers. I recommend you try a different pair of speakers.

There is a cheaper solution, actually.

Grab the power and audio cables and take them down to Radio Shack.

Look in the bin labeled "ferrites."

You should find some that fit over the two cables, enough so that you can loop the cable onto itself and clamp the ferrite over the loop to hold it.

Put one on each cable close to where it enters the speaker system.

That should get rid of any stray RF you are picking up.
