Hearing low static during calls

One of my new 4S phones is giving me very faint static in the earpiece during phone calls. The other does not ... wondering if anyone else has the same issue.

Considering taking it back to an Apple store but I'm afraid it's so low that in a loud store it won't be heard by the tech.

Lots of people have this issue (see Apple support forums).
Latest update there from a AT&T user:
"I just got off the phone with AT&T, and they said they are getting a large volume of calls on this topic. He said they are aware of the issue with the 4S. He said they think it is due to all the activations in a short time. Doesn't sound right to me, but I am trying it. They said they are resolving some of the issues by re-establishing the connection and re-registering the phone. They reset both of our phones and are calling back in three days to see if it worked."

So apparently there is an issue with the 4S... Think you should call Apple or your provider and complain.
