Is it possible to only track heart rate during workouts? I.e when I open the exercise app and start a workout.

The watch tracks my heart rate all day but I don't really see why I need this? I was hoping to save battery.

I don't want to manually keep enable/disable the monitor everyday.

It doesn't track your HR continuously all day long. It only takes a HR reading every 10 minutes during the day and it only uses the inferred sensors. The amount of battery drain from this should be minimal? Are you having battery draining issues and running out before the day end? If so it is likely so other problem.

Thanks for your information

I noticed a big difference in battery life when the monitor is off.
My battery lasts three times longer if I shut the monitoring off.
