Just checked the Health app and noticed that my watch checks my heart rate like every minute lol I'm sure this will drain battery in the long run, is there a way to set it so that it checks it every couple of hours for example?

Looking at today, I'm seeing 13 checks per hour. So about every 4.5 minutes.

My battery is at 77% with 9h15m standby / 1h36m usage. Just looking at those figures for the fun of it.

Reality is that for the five days I've owned the watch the battery lasts from when I get up in the morning to when I go to bed at night. Just like my S5 did.

I rather the watch check my heart rate as much as it does, versus using the watch for something that has no bearing on my overall health. My series 6 last all day with all the background monitoring.
But the watch knows we are alive if there is movement. If i am still it should check every minute and show some concern. :D

All interesting points but would love to see battery usage on these Apple Watch features that do this in the background and how it affects battery usage.
