I looked around for recent posts about heat and/or warmth issues and didn't find much.

How warm or hot does the rMBP get now? In the past I have tested the 2010 MBP and thought it was to warm for my taste. So I ended up with the MBA and have had it since.

Do they still run pretty hot? I'd like to get the latest rMBP when its released this year but if heat is still and issue maybe just go with the rMBA I keep hearing about.

It doesn't get hot at all unless I'm doing heavy video editing, rendering or playing Battlefield 4 on it.

Under normal load it runs quite cool with the 750M disabled via gfxcardstatus, around 50-55ºC.

Same. My older 15" 2010 MBP gets much hotter more often. The rmbp is relatively cool.

Under idle in Mavericks around 40-43C idle for CPU/GPU and under load around 65-70C. The fan speed threshold seems quite high - don't really hear the fans until beyond 60C :)
