I have the original MBP 1.83 and there are two things that drives me absolutely nuts!
1) The heat, I have having to drag around a tray to have underneath it in order to have be able to have it on my lap. I have fan control but even when the fans are blowing like a turbo engine it still gets too darn hot to be comfortable for small rediculous tasks, like just web surfing wirelessly.
2) Wifi reception is the other major issue with this laptop, lousy.
Also I can only have 2 Gig RAM and I want to run VMWare which makes the MBP sound like a jet for take off with corresponding heat...
So I am looking for more speed and RAM and from that apsect I know both last MBP 2.4 and new MB 2.4 would fit the bill nicely.
However when it comes to heat and wifi how is the new MB vs last gen MBP? Given that I can get the MBP for $100 less than the MB that makes it intersting provided the heat and wifi is substanitally better than my MBP 1.83.
Anyone with experience from both that can share their view on this?
