Hi All...

I just bought a leather bookcase type cover for my iPad(3) and now I'm concerned that this cover will act as an insulator and allow heat to build up, which could adversely affect the unit. Am I being overly cautious or can the iPad tolerate the heat? Thanks for listening.

You should be fine. The only time the iPad will really heat up is when you're running a very intensive app like a game for extended periods of time. Aside from that, normal use shouldn't be a problem for the leather to dissipate the heat. If you're a heavy gamer, you may want to consider a plastic case with holes that allow for better dissipation.

If it does get too hot, it will warn you and shutdown to prevent damage. Try it out and if you find that your use doesn't cause overheating then keep the case.

I never have any issues with any of my cases, that is something you shouldn't even be concerned with anyways.
