I copied some jpeg files onto a basic 8Gb Sandisk cruzer blade thumb drive from my mbp via an apple usb-c digital multiport adapter and although the adapter remained cool the thumb drive was hot to the touch, I was curious can anyone tell me why simple data transfer should generate such heat energy. Thank you curious.
