ok..yes i know there's lots of threads dedicated to heat issues and i've searched through them but haven't found anything to help yet

basically i think my mbp is running way too hot.. here are the stats while running itunes, firefox and msn only...it seems like it just started to perform this way about a couple of weeks ago (bought the mpb in august) and there appears to be a significant slow down in my battery life at the same time.. i've seen the temp go right up to 84 degrees (everything in celc. ) without any significant programs running..

should i just bring it in to the apple store? not quite sure what to do and any help would be much appreciated

What's your CPU% when running all these applications? I've had my MacBook hit ~87° C with no problems.

Higher CPU usage = more energy used = lower battery life

Yes take it in, you shouldn't be nearly that hot. You should only be getting up to 75 while running heavy graphics stuff. Your fans look like the are going crazy too.
