My 2015 MacBook Pro has developed a strange “heat mark” on the outer shell’s Apple logo. The plastic has actually “bubbled up” and I can feel ridges on the plastic.

The damage has extended to the display itself. There is a dark halo spot directly opposite the damaged side.

This issue seems to have appeared overnight. There was no external heat or pressure applied to the lid.

On a table with the lid closed, powered on but not performing any tasks.

Have you checked the system log to see if something odd was going on? If you're pretty sure it happened overnight, that might be a good next step.
