Searched around but can't seem to find the answer for this.

My fan on the 5870 is a bit dicey and stops working. Since the machine is fine otherwise, was thinking to change my stock fan for a quiet or passive system.

Everything I have found on the topic seems to be for older and out of stock arctic cooling stuff but can't seem to find which I should be going for right now.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We just bought some replacement OEM fans on Amazon, as we have a lot of Radeon 5870s here and the original fans are dying off one by one.

Disassemble card / heatsink, clean out all the dust and crud, clean off the crappy original thermal paste, install new fan, apply new thermal paste, reassemble, reinstall in computer, get back to work.
