So recently I've loaded my mac with bootcamp and thrown windows 8.1 on there (I'm a windows server admin) when I noticed the top left corner getting quite hot.

The issue occurs in OS X aswell and as far as I can tell its about 105 when zipping large files. Is this typical of a MBA? I know its not a power user platform but I have to throttle the CPU to 80% in windows just to prevent a overheat.

Specs
Size: 13"
CPU: Intel-Core-i7-4650U
MEM: 8GB
SSD: 512GB
Surface tested on, flat metal with no vent obstructions.

After-thought question:
If anyone knows, would removing OS X completely and keeping it installed on a USB 3.0 flash drive void any kind of warranty if I should need to return the device?

Im not speaking from experience but could the rate at which the fans increase as temps rise be too low?

Possibly but then it would not stabilize at 95+c at 80% utilization. The fans would lower the temp and I could raise the CPU.
