hey all,

i think there is something wrong with my machine.

I've got this program called smcFANcontrol and while i was using XCode and another app for sound creation is was showing that the temperature was 81 degrees???

because i'm new to the apple world, was is the normal average temperature?

thanks!

So because you're new to this whole thing and don't know what the proper temperatures are, you immediately assume that there is something wrong.

I have the last-gen 2.4 15" and I'll hit 90 degrees Celsius occasionally. It shouldn't be a problem.

C or F? I got mine running on C at an average 50 when I play WoW its a 2.4ghz imac so not sure about you.

Your 2.4 MBP runs at 50c while playing WoW? Mine runs around 80c. Mine is running at 50c just typing this post in Safari. What are you doing to it! :)

In WoW I do use the higher performance graphics...

User said iMac, not macbook pro. big difference. My dad's iMac runs average 30-35 deg C for his web surfing and movie watching.

As long as your system isn't over 100 deg C, I wouldn't worry.

Ahh stupid misreads! Thanks for the correction.

I wasn't worried about mine, my temps have been ok. But when I thought his was at 50 I was wondering what was up! :)
