Okay I was trying to help my friend update his iphone 4 he has been complaining of slow wifi & overall slow phone well looking into it he had never synced it or ever plugged it in and it had 4.0.1 on it.

So I just plugged it into his computer which had never had a phone plugged into it and figured itunes would back it up first which it didn't seem to it just did and "unknown" backup well now it has replaced his pictures with some random pictures from his computer

All I am concerned about is the pictures I have tried this method with no success

Any suggestions??

I am just taking a guess, but I would assume if you did not back up that those previous pictures are gone. For good.

It didn't give me the option to backup I right clicked and all that popped up was eject

They're gone. This isn't an action-packed movie where at the very last second the heroes find a way to defeat/stop a tragic event from happening. The data is just gone.

So how can I back up the phone so I don't lose even more like the apps and stuff?
