Help 1.1.4 + edge.

Ok guys the problem is i updated from 1.1.3 jb to 1.1.4 and jb again everything fine, the thing is ive been noticing that the battery drains up so fast, and it takes longer to recharge, so i been trying to find what is it , till this morning that i noticed that when i was going to make a call it says EDGE Data doesnt work with phone signal or whatever it says something like that , so at that moment i thought that edge was on everytime and that sounds reasonable for the problem i am having, the thing is im trying to turn it off (using services), but when i choose OFF it's appears off but when i open the program again its ON again so its not saving or something, i really need to fix this out, like old times that EDGE turned on when i open something with internet and places where i wasnt around WiFI's any help or advice or something
