i've been looking online for a pdf or something for the do-it-youself walkthrough... but all the powerbook airport extreme installation docs i've found show a different version of the pbook with different battery and screw placement. It seems I can access the airport card slot just taking out the battery... Can anyone help me? Thanks

It's in the manual, and it's really quite simple. Remove the battery. On the inboard side of the short side of the battery slot, you'll find a door. Flip that down, slide in the AirPort card, attach the antenna wire, replace the battery and you're in business.
