Hi there,
I am trying to help my friend get her 2nd gen nano back online. Here's the backstory:
She hooked it up to her PC (running XP and iTunes 7.5) and had spent a couple hours adding and removing music. While she was deleting some music she got an error message which read something to the extent of: "Error-iPod not recognized; please restore your iPod".
She clicked the "restore button" and then got this message:
"Error-Firmware file not found.
Meanwhile the iPod itself displays "Do Not Disconnect".
So far she has restarted the computer, re-installed iTunes and reset the iPod.
I tired talking her through a forced update (downloaded the most recent update package from Apple and tried the "Shift+Restore" trick, but that hit the same barrier.
Anyone out there got any ideas??
Cheers,
Craig
