I am running out of space cause 300gb are taken from Other — in my macbook. How can I find these files // delete the unneeded ones!

When I did a clean install of Big Sur from Catalina my ‘Other’ was all my old files from Catalina which for some reason didn’t delete.

You have to be very careful about this because in Big Sur you will have HD- Data which stores all of your personal info, and then your regular HD stuff.

If you go into where you can see all of your hard drives and partitions and you have two HD- Data’s. That’s what’s happened.

You will just have to delete all of that old storage and you will be good to go.

So I have Macintosh HD - 15.45gb Macintosh HD - Data 392.43gb VM 1.12gb Preboot 408.3mb 1 not mounted 778.5mb and 89.77gb free

what is the ”not mounted” and is the 392.43gb just basically my video games//movies//pictures etc??

The data is all your stuff. Games, videos like you said. 300gig is not a lot for that.
