macOS Help a guy set up local dev environment

I'm a newbie when it comes to creating a local development environment on a Mac. I need to create a name-based virtual host so that I can test and change a script I use on a website. I've used Patrick's automatic script and it created a virtual host successfully. Now I need to add PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL to my MBP to be able to run the script locally.

Is anyone willing to give me a hand? I've already made a mistake and installed 5.2.0. Unfortunately, Zend Optimizer (that I need) doesn't work with it. So, I now have to figure out how to take out 5.2.0 and add 5.1.6.
