I'm not familiar with the ideal process on reinstalling Mavericks on my computer.
There are a lot of tutorials online and I'm not sure which one is the best to follow. Wondering if you guys could help me out.
I have a 15" retina macbook pro, late 2012.
A few concerns that I would like to have answered if possible.
1. Will reinstalling from a USB keep my recovery partition intact?
2. Should I deauthorize my computer from iTunes before doing anything?
3. I have a backup on my 1TB external, can I pick and choose what I want back in my computer after I reinstall?
4. Is this a good tutorial on creating a Mavericks USB drive? LifeHacker
5. I have 1Password with iCloud backups. Will I have any issues with 1Password after the reinstall? Is there something I should do before starting?
6. Will reinstalling affect my syncing and backups with my iPhone and iPad?

Are there things you have run into that you wish you would have known/done before reinstalling that would be good to know now?

I know this is asking a lot but I just don't want to mess anything up.
If you don't feel like answering any questions, is there another thread that would be helpful that I might have missed?

I appreciate any help that I can get. Thank you.

Yes.

No.

If it is a time machine backup, you can choose your time machine drive, then browse and restore whatever you want. If you backed up with anything else, you can just drag and drop what you want.

I have no idea.

As long as you copy the iTunes folder over from your backup, it'll be fine.

You will need to reinstall iLife apps from the app store. Also, every app you have installed outside from the app store will need to be re-downloaded or installed from its DVD or CD. You can't just restore those from a backup because some important files are tucked away in your system. If you just restore the app, it will be missing those files.

I know this is asking a lot but I just don't want to mess anything up.
