Help - accounting sofware Canada

hey,

I'm starting a small business and I'm having a hell of a time finding accounting software for Canadian Mac users....

I'm buying my brother's PowerBook (a gen or two back but he's updated it and beefed up the ram - haven't got it in my hands yet so that's all I know).

My options are:

Simply Accounting - run via Vitual PC. SA is the standard accounting software in canada but they no longer make a Mac version... I have never used V PC and am concerned about loss of speed etc.

QuickAccounts - Intuit Canda's Mac contribution which, as it turns out, is MYOB. QA does not let you do your own payroll?!?!?!

QuickBooks Pro - US version that comes with PowerBook and includes a file for Canadian Users. Problem is Intuit Canada knows nothing about this program and does not support it and Intuit USA knows nothing about the Canadian Users files - and they said that it is Intuit Can's obligation to support it... even though they don't even offer the software?!?!?!

Any advice would be appreciated....

For anyone that is still looking for Canadian accounting software for Mac, you should check out MoneyWorks. I was in the same situation as most Mac users, desperately looking for decent accounting software that would run on a Mac and handles Canadian taxes (GST/PST/HST), standardized cheque forms, etc. I found MoneyWorks and was so impressed with it that I have since become a reseller. HansaWorld may have what you need

Depending on your software needs you might want to take a look at Books by HansaWorld or HansaWorld Enterprise. I tried a number of other software solutions to run my business either natively on my Mac or on a virtual PC (Parallels or VMware) and I was never fully satisfied with either the software functionality or the support.
