I hope someone can walk me out of this mess: I am running OS 10.3.9 on a flat-monitor iMac. Because of a corrupted Eudora upgrade and maybe some other problems I was advised to do an Archiv and Install. Using the original CDs I got as far as languages on disc 2 when the process froze. Advice: power off and then start up again but eliminate the languages. This time it went through the three disks.
So now I have Previous System Folder 1 and Previous System Folder2 on my hard drive. I can retrieve some of my earlier files from SF 2 by navigating through Users (I am the only one) and Home . But this gets me mostly files, very few folders. And particularly missing are the apps that I haved downloaded and really depended on, like MacJournal for instance. I can find it but it is new , pristine-- stripped of all of the notes I left for myself.
Does anyone know wher to look for the missing original downloads with all of their embellishments?
