Help: Airport Extreme card not seen by system!

Last week I bought a airport extreme card for my friend who just had bought a second-hand 15 inch PB 1Ghz. De card is not being seen, and the CD that came with the card is not OK.

Can somebody provide me through a link to a DMG file to the software that came with the airport extreme card. (Can not find it on the Apple support pages)

Does your friend not have the install disks for the PB?
Reinstalling the OS should install the Airport stuff.

It shouldn't really need any extra software at this stage. What OS is it running? Have you run Software Updater since installing the card? Have you checked the card to ensure it's properly plugged in?

There is, of course, a chance the card is dead.

Thanks, for the responses so far:

- The card is working, I tried it in my own PB.
- Again. The CD is not working.
- I did archive and install of Tiger, including updates.

I spoke on the phone with person where I bought the card. It might be that this PB version (PB G4, 1 Ghz) needs the install CD. Has anybody a link?

Which has links to various downloads, but I guess you may have come across all this as you said you've searched Apple.

Assuming it's a legitimate version of OSX, the drivers should be included with Tiger.

There are two versions of 1GHz PowerBooks. The first had a regular AirPort card included (not Extreme) and it's probably safe to assume this is not the machine we're talking about since I'm not sure where you'd be able to install the Extreme card. The second version is more recent and had the option of an Extreme card.

Now, in System profiler, what does it say under AirPort card?

Indeed I tried this, It seems that Apple is less organized then I thought.

Also in system profiler not seen! The card has a slot next to the battery.
( I assume I have a hardware defect, but I do want to try the original software that came with the card.).

Thanks for all the advice, but I desperately need the software that came with the airport extreme card. Could anyone please make a DMG file, upload it end sent me a link?
