(Help) Apple watch Screen shuts off...

I recently purchased a stainless steel black apple watch...and its great but when I try to send voice messages, after 20 seconds the screens shuts off and goes back to the home screen. I checked time and time again and this issue always occurs within 20 seconds of making a voice text message. Any idea what this could be or if there is some setting I can change?

I assume you have the watch set to shut off after 15 seconds. You can change to 70 seconds. This only applies to when you activate the screen with a touch or side button.

On the watch, go to settings, general, wake screen. Scroll to the bottom.

You will need that for a few other apps that you may purchase. I use sleep pulse to track my sleep and in the morning, it takes an analysis of your sleep and that may take more than 15 seconds so they recommend 70.
