Hello! (First post).

But also, help! My phone is absolutely about to get stamped on. I have an iPhone 6 and recently, for no reason, it aggressively changes “is” to I.S. I’ve reset keyboard, checked shortcuts, tried adding short cuts, tried resetting the dictionary, removed all dictionary’s other than English.. I’ve even performed a full reset (settings, not data).

Literally nothing I can do fixes this.. and, it’s infuriating beyond belief.

I’ll see if I can attach an example.

Is there any way I can fix this before my iPhone gets blended?
[doublepost=1507895062][/doublepost]Also I.S isn’t something I’ve ever even typed.. so it’s not as if it’s learnt it?!?

I thought I was the only one experiencing this and I’m having exactly the same issue (and so is my wife’s phone) 6S and 6Splus here.

Kind of glad you've replied! At least I know it's nothing I've done.

I've fixed it (sort of) by installing Gboard

I just tried typing “is” multiple times with no issue here on my iPhone 7 Plus 11.1 Beta 2.

I’m using Australian English as the “iPhone Language”. It is working fine for me.

Very weird! Maybe it's a localised issue? Or maybe 6th Gen only?

I can’t see how the model of phone could cause this particular issue.

Which version of English are you using? With IS being in the news so much I wonder if the predictive keyboard is learning from your News feed.

I forgot to mention that I don’t use the predictive keyboard because I hate it. That doesn’t mean autocomplete doesn’t work.

PS: I’m trying again after turning the predictive keyboard on and there is still no problem. See the pic. Hope that helps.

I've tried loads of different languages and all have the same result. It's so odd, it's like a really aggressive auto correct. Usually you can type additional letters then delete and it's ok.

Like iss then delete the second s and it stays as is.. not with this weird I.S bug though. Just overwrites what youre writing. It also does the same for os which also becomes I.S

Doubt it would pick it from news feed?

Welcome by the way! :)

That would honestly drive me bat śhit crazy as well. I hope there is a solution! (sorry)!

Who knows how Apple has programmed the predictive keyboard? It could be looking at any number of sources to decide what it thinks you want to write.

Have you tried turning it off? I can’t see its usefulness personally.

I’ve seen some of the innapropriate capitalisation reported in that thread.

I guess you can try the beta and see if that helps.
