I am new to this forum and not sure if this is in the right spot.
Anyway, I have been running XP using bootcamp for the past 2.5 yrs without a single problem on my intel MacBook. The night before last there was an auto bootcamp update on my machine. After the update, my XP drive ran fine or at least I thought it did. The next day I booted into XP did some work and closed the lid to suspend the computer for a few hours.
When I tried to revive it, nothing. I had to manually turn off the computer and restart it. At that point the initial XP logo screen appears and that is it. It does not go into the log on screen. I cannot boot into safe mode with or without the command prompt.
From the OS X side I can see the drive and my data. I was hoping to repair the XP drive, but I don't know how to get the machine to read the XP installation disk. I placed the XP install disk in the optical drive and tried to log into it using the option key during startup. Its sees the drive and I can click on it, but I believe it bypasses it and goes to straight to a XP screen (it was my startup drive in Preference). Apple help desk says its an windows problem. The code text I see during safe mode locks up on the drivers.
I think the bootcamp (~2.5 update) damaged my drivers.
Any ideas or suggestions? I saved the data, but I hate to reinstall everything when I believe only the drivers need repair.
Thanks in advance
Andrew
