Help booting Ultimate Boot CD or Hitachi Feature tool?

Good morning,

I am trying to get my Mac Pro to run either of the above bootable CDs so that I can eventually set a SATA drive for a PVR into quiet acoustic mode.

However neither CD fully boots on my Mac Pro.

Both burnt CD's are fine as they load up on my laptop, and also load up on the Mac under Fusion.

any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

The ultimate boot CD starts, but after I see a prompt saying hit enter to boot, the screen just blanks.

The Hitachi Feature tool starts booting, the process bar gets to about 99% and that also hangs.

Any help much appreciated!

I think these disks only run on a PC. You need a machine with a BIOS. Macs don't have a BIOS. Even thought they use Intel processors, they are not true x86 machines.

thanks, I kinda guessed as much. I think I found a solution

Connected up the PVR SATA Drive, bootcamp'd into Vista and ran this which appears to have worked...
