I just upgraded/setup my new TC as my base station from an Airport Express(G). I have a 2 story home and have the TC upstairs. Now I want to extend the network so I can have better coverage by using the old Airport Express downstairs (bridging from the TC upstairs).

I was told I could do this. So I went downstairs, plugged the old AE into the wall and went into Airport Utility but only the TC showed up. My Mac couldn't find the old AE. Why is this?? Am I doing it wrong??

Expert advise needed!! THANKS!

Adrian

You might have to hard wire from the laptop to the express to get everything set up.

Plus if you setup the express-G to wireless extend your network, you'll loose the N network, since the TC will run in G mode since it's talking to the express.

Even if you don't need the N speeds, if you use WDS your G will be slower than normal G.

hardwiring the express would take care of this.
