Well my freind just called me and told me that his wife threw a martini shaker like a baseball straight at the screen and it completely shattered. I kno i kno...i was throwing up in my mouth when he told me, but whatever i guess s**t happens. any1 know where i can send it to get it fixed, or where i can buy a lcd for it? can i replace it myself?? I went to ifixit.com and they didnt have any...i also tried to convince him to maybe buy a new one, but he said he wouldnt mind paying upto $500 to get it fixed..

I thought it was pretty cool solution and probably a whole lot cheaper then replacing it with an OEM lcd... but you do end up loosing the thing that made that generation iMac so cool to begin with, so I'm not sure what I'd do.

I bet the lcd could be replaced for less than 500 though. However, the option above is much cheaper.
