Help can not copy to firewire drive

I cannot copy to my Lacie 800FW drive. I have always used this drive before but now I get a variety of error messages (-50, -35, name too long). I am using system 10.3.9:mad: Drive will not eject from finder properly either. I have repaired permissions on my powerbook 1.5ghz
