Hi,
I woke my computer from sleep this afternoon, and everything I tried to do (open Safari, turn wi-fi on/off, go into the force quit menu, etc) resulted in a beach ball. After waiting a bit to see if it would work again, I force shut down the computer.
When rebooting, the computer got stuck at the spinning gears screen for an unusually long amount of time, and when it finally got to the log-in screen, clicking on the icon for my account made the computer beach ball, as well.
I've tried verifying/repairing disk permissions and verifying/repairing disk from disk utility on the recovery partition, resetting the PRAM, and booting from safe mode, all without much success.
Any ideas? Thanks!
