I've just reinstalled my OS, and imported my old user files. I can't open iTunes because my music library was created by a newer version of iTunes.

The version after reinstalling is 4.0.1, and i was running 4.7.1
However, I can't update iTunes?! It's not present in the software updater (i've updated everything down to OS X 10.3.8), and it won't let me install using the updater i downloaded from the apple website (4.7.1) - the option to install iTunes is 'greyed out'

If i remove my music library file, i can get into iTunes with a blank library, but it still has no option to let me update.

Anyone got any ideas?? This is driving me mad!
