help (can't use the phone because i can't unlock)

hey guy ive got a problem ive jailbroken my iphone 3g(not 3gs) 16gb and ive done a recovery now when i got in to itunes and to unlocked it says sim not insted when i have one in and i can't use the phone because i can't unlock.
