I am trying to burn photos to a CD and it is not working all of a sudden. Here is the error message I get.

"The burn to the LITE-ON LTR-52246S drive failed. The device drained its buffer without burn underrun protection."

I have an iMac G3 600mhz. and I am using a Lacie 52x24x52 external drive (doesn't work on my internal one either).

It will burn one or two photos but nothing more. I've tried lowering the spedd and that has not help.

Any suggestions????

Are you getting the same error message on both drives?
If so, it wouldn't appear to be the hardware.

What system are you using? 10.??
Have you tried the usual... restart, repair permissions, etc.?

Have you tried to burn anything else? Music? Files?
Perhaps it is the data that it doesn't like.
What is the format, size, etc. of the pics?

How low. In my experience (with a "slow" Mac with limited RAM and free HD space) you might need to go way down on speed. I had an old 12x firewire CD-burner, and that never was stable burning at speeds over 4x (I even had to go 2x sometimes) with my old Pismo with a G3 at 400MHz and 320 MB RAM...

Have not tried repair permissions. How do I do this?

Thanks for your help.
