Hi everyone.

My client asks me help him choose display for professional video editing.

I've made simpli investigate and found that the best display with P-IPS
maxtrix (Nec PA)

Also, there is another question: how i can work with 3D video, what hardware do i need for best performance? (Aja Kona 3G + 120Hz Monitor?)

It really depends on what you need it for...

I have an NEC multi sync 2090, and I am really happy with it. Its color-accuracy is really well, so I use it mainly for color grading. It only has a 1600x1200 res, though.

If you don't need the color-accuracy I would be less critical, and probably go for something with a higher resolution...

I was shopping for one a few months ago.
Folks suggested anything from Dell to a Panny.
I know its overkill but we went with a DeckLink HD Extreme 3D and a Flanders.
Its not cheap :(

Oh wait, are you talking GUI or?

I have my eyes set on a NEC PA 271w 27" display. I did quite a bit of research and it sits in a sweet spot of high quality and affordability.

I would look at something Eizo with low response time, high resolution and outstanding color accuracy. It will be worth it... Eizo most of the time guarantees 30.000 hours of burn time before it looses accuracy. In other words, you can stick with it for years.

I'm sorry i didn't understand.

Which display i need to work with 3D-video?

For 3D video?

(I guess this got overlooked by everybody).

I have never heard of any displays that are particularly good in 3D work.

If there is, it must be a niche product and quite expensive.

I did mention one that was used for 3D but I dont work with 3D Stereoscopic clips. We use it strictly for RED clips and Resolve.
