Hi all, happy holidays! 🎄

I recently gifted a couple of Apple Watches to family members (definitely an expensive Christmas!). They’re really happy with them so far, but now I need to sort out chargers.

I came across the Anker Charger iPhone USB C GaN 30 W, 511 (Nano 3) on Amazon. It’s listed as a 25W MagSafe charger, which seems promising. However, I’m unsure if the voltage specs align with what the Apple Watch charger requires.

Alternatively, I’m also considering the Anker Charger iPhone 511 (Nano Pro) 20 W PIQ 3.0. Would this be a better choice? My main goals are:

1. Fast Charging Compatibility: I want my family to benefit from the fast charging feature of the Series 10.
2. Safety: I don’t want to risk damaging their new watches with a charger that’s too powerful or incompatible.

Does anyone have experience with these chargers or recommendations for a better option? Thanks in advance for your advice! 😊

Looking forward to your suggestions!

Cheers!

Either one will work, USB-C devices will only draw the power that they need. 20w is enough for fast charging with Series 10.

No need to overthink this.

Both are far more charging capacity than is needed. Apple Watch needs under 5 watts to fast charge, and with usb PD (power delivery) the charge rate is negotiated. The watch charger will only draw what it needs.

My Belkin 3 in one Boost Charge has been great.

Don’t get the coat hanger style, though, as it dosn’t hold the watch properly in place.

Get the flat version.

Apple sells them.

Black or white.

For me, it is the stock plug-in Magsafe charger at the desk, but everywhere else, it is the Anker MagGo Power Bank for Apple Watch. This is a 10,000 mAh Power Bank battery charger. In addition to the Apple Watch, it will also charge iPhones and iPads. It is small enough that I carry it in my possibles bag. What I like about the watch charging area is that it swings up so you can place the watch on it magnetically the power bank is sized so you can leave the charging disk down, and with a watch band like the Trail loop, the Alpine Loop, or the Sport loop pull it tight around the battery it holds the watch securely in place. you can put the watch in a purse or something like my shoulder bag to charge.

The Anker MagGo Power Bank has a USB C cable that doubles as a carrying strap; it has a single USB C port on the side for charging and recharging. I carry a 1-foot USB-C to Lighting cable for my iPhone.

Very nice when you are on the move but… to recharge the charger, on order to charge the Apple Watch… it is something I can’t stand 😅

Note I said that at home, I use the standard magnetic fast charger from Apple. But I carry the Anker MagGo not just for the Apple Watch but for the iPhone. My iPad does not leave the house. Anker batteries hold their full charge for many months at a time. I have it only if I get caught with a discharged watch or iPhone.
