Hi,
I'm trying to buy a monitor for my macbook. I want a good 24-27 inch monitor for under 500. Does anyone have any advice? I've never bought a computer product that wasn't a Mac, but I can't afford Mac monitors. I use the computer for Microsoft, photoshop, in design, other design programs and would like to watch movies as well.
THank you!

It's right at the $500 mark, but the Dell U2410 is a very nice monitor, with an IPS panel. Dell also has more that aren't as expensive and are still nice monitors.

thanks-- definitely going to check that one out. Any other suggestions at a little lower price?

There's a lot of 24" models out there, and anything at a lower price will be a TN panel, and honestly, most of them will look exactly the same. When you get in the 27" range, they get pretty pricey, especially if you want a model that isn't limited to 1080p (which is on the grainy side for a computer monitor).

monitor question price adjustment

I originally said 500, but I think it needs to be more like under 400.00 Sorry about that. Does anyone have suggestions?

thanks-- is there a huge difference between the DellU2410 and a lower price model? Sorry-- I've only worked off of laptops before.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

I recommend the Dell ultrasharp. On point colours and good price.

The HP ZR24w can be found cheaper usually and is very similar. Under $400 on amazon right now.

My advice would be to check these two threads over at [H]ard|Forum for the latest deals and get an idea about the displays:

ZR24w

U2410
