Please tell me sprint isn't that bad. I live in the Washington DC area if that can help with some of the comments. AT&T has been great for me, my friends have sprint and don't mind it at all. I'm just scared to swap services been with AT&T forever.
 
Sprint is great in that area, actually. I lived there for awhile and my son still does, neither of us have any complaints about using Sprint there.
 
Your data will likely be slow (this is from personal experience). Coverage will likely be fine. I use my phones more for data than anything else, so it did hurt pretty bad. I suppose it depends on how heavily you use your phone's data plan.
 
Here's hoping that the 2012 iPhone model will support LTE and Sprint will roll it out quickly in your area. That'll take care of the data issues you speak of. Hopefully Sprint would still have unlimited data.

Sprint doing something quickly? The only thing I have experienced them do quickly is deduct money from my bank account for auto pay. :p
