ok, ive tried everything. restored my ipod touch, reinstalled itunes, everything you can think of. i dont even get the error message when you connect it with the usb cable. simply nothing happens when i connect it to the computer. itunes just stays closed and the ipod just goes to sleep. i am beginning to think that the problem is the usb cable. but i really hope that i dont have to buy a new one. please help me!!
thanks.

If its the cable, Apple owes you a new one if it is defective. Have you manually opened iTunes? Does the Touch show up on the left if you do this?

If your answer is NO to the second question, try another computer, or cable. Which ever is easier.

itouch and itunes

Try starting up itunes without itouch connected. When itunes has completed the startup connect itouch and check box "open itunes when this ipod is connected." If this doesn't work you may have a bad cable.
