Help Connecting Laptop to Time Capsule

I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I just purchased an acer netbook. Although it will see my wireless network, it is continually "acquiring network address ". Any recommendation on how to fix this problem. Are the netbooks compatible with time capsule?
