My Pismo has a sound that it emits constantly from the 1st second I turn it on until I turn it off. It sounds like a fan running or something spinning. It originates from the upper right hand corner near the screen. It never speeds up or slows down, it is constant.

Is this a noisy fan or is it the hard drive? I would like to replace the offending part if possible to reduce or even eliminate this whine.

Thanks

It's the hard drive. Very easy to replace - you can find instructions online.

try folding up the keyboard and putting your ear to it to see if the noise is coming from the drive. If it is, you know what the problem is. If it's coming from somewhere else, you'll probably also know what the problem is! :)
