I just started a position in Master Control with a PBS Affiliate. I'm somewhat new to this end of the industry and was handed a task I need some help with. No one else here has made any headway so this'll make me some brownie points too.
We have an old Omneon system we're going to be upgrading away from and don't want to spend money on their software updates. We get a fair number of programs ftp'd from other stations and we've had a workaround to get newer files to play for us. Lately it seems that the encoding has changed again and we can't get them to play on our system. I'm looking for a piece of free software that will take the Omneon files and mux them up into a quicktime that we can use here. I've experimented with what I can find online and haven't had luck - is anyone currently using something to do this? Thanks!
