Canadian Eh!
I just received my new MacBook Pro today, and I love it!

I am trying to create a USB boot disk from a pre-installed Lion. I followed this guide, but inside com.apple.recovery.boot there is no BaseSystem.dmg only a .chunklist file.

Could someone please help me to figure this out. I am waiting to upgrade to my SSD but I need this USB boot drive first. If I can create the disk without buying lion, that'd be awesome.

Couldn't I just clone the recovery drive's contents to my USB stick in theory?

figured it out, I installed Lion onto an external drive then got the InstallESD.dmg off that. Had some issues installing.. It was saying "Try reinstalling." I found an Apple article and someone mentioned resetting PRAM so that did the trick. Still learning my gestures but so far I am liking this!
